How To Demand Consistency From A Boss
Before one decides to work, they normally make a decision to work under someone. One of the reasons that make people seek employment is when one wants growth in their career. When one gets a financial incentive, they can decide to work for an employer. Employment is also for people who want change in their life. An employer and employee both have a role to play and this is the reason why employees should not feel timid toward their bosses.
Bosses usually expect hard work, proficiency, honesty and reliability from their employees and they should be willing to give the same. There needs to be consistency with the pattern of pay from an employer. To look at one’s pattern of pay, one should refer to the contract that they signed and they should expect that an employer will pay according to the contract. Employees can be paid monthly, weekly, or even every fortnight depending on the contract that an employer and an employee signed. One of the ways to ensure consistency is when employees demand to be paid at the time that they are supposed to be paid.
Before one decides to take a job, they need to discuss about sick pay and commission work early on. If one discusses with their employer about this from the beginning, there will be no mix up when the issues arise. Employees can check whether their employers are making consistent payments by creating pay stubs. Pay stubs can be used as evidence by an employer to show their employees that they have made payments on salaries and wages. Employers may sometimes make payments late for a day or two but it should not become a habit.
Sometimes in a workplace, there can be inconsistency in the amount of workload that is given to employees. In case other employees are sick or doing other jobs, some employees may get an unfair workload as a result of this. People who are in these situations often should demand more consistency. To address the situation, an employee should talk more about it with a boss.
In case a superior does not do anything about it, one can make a complaint to the human resource department.
For one to show that one is being treated unfairly in the workplace, one should have evidence and they should take notes of unfair treatment from a superior. Employees have the right to demand consistency from their employers since their employers expect a lot from them in return. Employees should learn to stop letting companies get away with inconsistency.
